Serent Capital, a private equity firm focused on investing in profitable, high growth service businesses, today announced an investment in C2 Educational Systems (“C2” or the “Company”), a leading provider of private educational enrichment centers serving K-12 students. Founded by David Kim in 1997 when he was a student at Harvard University, C2 now operates one of the country’s largest networks of educational centers focused on college test preparation and academic tutoring.

Serent has spent considerable time evaluating emerging companies in the education sector. “With college admissions becoming increasingly competitive and public school systems facing significant funding challenges, private after-school education programs are playing an important role in helping students achieve their academic and college admissions goals,” said David Kennedy, co-founder and General Partner of Serent Capital. “C2’s highly personalized instruction model combined with its high quality educational materials have enabled the Company to establish itself as a clear leader in its field. C2 has an impressive track record of delivering exceptional results for its students, and we are excited to be partnering with the Company to support its continued growth and innovation.”

“Serent’s team brings a wealth of experience as executives and advisors of successful growth businesses.” said David Kim of C2. “With Serent’s resources and support, we look forward to investing further in our organization’s infrastructure, systems, and curriculum to help us deliver even higher quality services to our growing community of students across the country.” C2 was advised on the transaction by Arlington Capital Advisors.
